About Pipedreams
Sundays at 9 pm.
Organists have a world of music at their fingertips. They talk about a kind of musical rapture they experience when they play a work really well. Get a glimpse of the divine every week on Pipedreams from American Public Media. Host Michael Barone shares organ works and performances and talks with composers, organists, organ builders, and restorers. The show features brand new instruments in churches and concert halls, plus recordings of historic pipe organs in locations around the world, from ancient instruments in vast cathedrals to the "mighty Wurlitzers" of movie house fame. Whether you're a long-time fan of organ music or just learning about this diverse instrument, you’ll enjoy Pipedreams.
