Carlos Eire: Reformations--The Early Modern World, 1450-1650
Historian Carlos Eire writes in his new book not of one monolithic Reformation Age but of Reformations in the plural.  The extra 's' is meant to introduce the idea that the years 1450-1650 were full of different, overlapping, sometimes contradictory Reformations all taking place at once.  It is a thorough, deeply-informed approach to one of the most important periods of Western history.  Guest host Mark Burns talks with Dr. Eire today about his ideas.  —Original airdate: 9/8/2016
