Thinking Aloud
New Horizon Orchestra: Learning Music Late in Life
For many adults, music is something you listen too, not something you make. For others, music is something you'd like to learn how to make, but you've just never known how? Or maybe it's something you did years ago, but have lost the knack for. The New Horizons Orchestra was established precisely for daring, intrepid, or at least willing souls who are sufficiently uninhibited about their level of musical competence to dive in and take the risk. Today we'll be thinking aloud with Andrew Dabczynski, BYU professor of music and conductor of the New Horizons Orchestra.—Original airdate: 9/1/2006
