Thinking Aloud
Ceremony and Celebration of Pioneer Day
In many ways Pioneer Day is the lesser known counterpart of the Fourth of July. It certainly is celebrated similarly; with parades, fireworks, and time spent with family. Thinking Aloud explores the advent of Pioneer Day and its modern meaning with BYU folklorist Eric Eliason and renowned scholar Clyde Milner from Arkansas State University. —Original airdate: 7/25/2011
