Thinking Aloud
English Language Learners in Utah Schools
Utah demographics have been shifting, and a corresponding new profile is quickly emerging in Utah's schools. If you can put aside the politics of immigration, and think like a skilled teacher entrusted to educate, not to discriminate, then this interview is for you. We're Thinking Aloud with an expert in education, who will help sort through the various concerns, worries, and above all, the probable best approaches to learning environments with a bilingual or multilingual aspect. Our guest, Ramona Cutri, is a professor in the Department of Teacher Education at Brigham Young University, who focuses on bilingual education and multiculturalism.—Original airdate: 3/4/2009
