African-American Geneology
Today on Thinking Aloud genealogist Khadijah Matin joins us from New York City to discuss the unique challenges of tracing African-American ancestral lines through centuries of slavery and demographic movement. Matin is president of the Afro-American Historical amp; Genealogical Society, also known as AAHGS. Her research focus includes Midwest history, Native American research, and African-American genealogy. The Utah chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) joined with the Family History Library to co-sponsor the fifth annual African American Family History Research Series.—Original airdate: 2/9/2007
