Nobel Prize-Winning Poet Pablo Neruda
Pablo Neruda is a name known around the world, perhaps made even better-known to your average poetry-fearing American through the highly acclaimed foreign language film "Il Postino." Ted Lyon, of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at BYU, joins us to discuss the legacy of Pablo Neruda. Lyon has made Neruda's life and writings one of his areas of scholarship and expertise. Even more, he was once personally invited to visit the great poet as a guest in one of Neruda's residences, which is now famous as something of a shrine.—Original airdate: 2/5/2007
