Thinking Aloud
A Linguist Who Studies & Saves Rare, Endangered World Languages
Many of our planet’s rare, priceless languages are endangered.  Of the 7,000 or so languages spoken by humans around the globe, fully half could be extinct within a few generations.  Today on Thinking Aloud, guest host Matthew Wickman, the Director of BYU's Humanities Center, talks to David Harrison, a linguistic anthropologist who has travelled the world attempting to document and start to save many of these endangered languages.—Original airdate: 11/24/2014
