Sam St. Clair: Aspen Trees--Our Planet's Biggest, Oldest Living Organisms
Did you know that Aspen trees are connected to each other and form huge organisms? The state of Utah appears to have the biggest aspen stand anywhere.  It has been named “Pando” and it has over 100,000 above-ground stems, it weighs over 15,000,000 pounds, it occupies over 107 acres, and its root system is over 80,000 years old.
