Philanthropy in British and American Fiction
We're Thinking Aloud today with BYU English Professor Frank Christianson about his book "Philanthropy in British and American Fiction." His book explores the relationship between philanthropy and literary realism in novels by Charles Dickens, Nathaniel Hawthorne, George Eliot, and William Dean Howells. We'll discuss the subsequent influence these writers had on the rise of modern philanthropy.
