Seeds of the Future: Youth Involvement and Youthful Imagery in the American Civil Rights Movement
Rebecca DeSchweinitz shares her perspectives, not only on the role of youth activists during the Civil Rights Movement, but also on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s deft, frequent oratorical referencing of the rising generation and the passionate interest of parents in their children. His efforts no doubt succeeded, at least in part, through his ability to garner sympathy through speeches that had thematic appeal to peoples of all races.—Original airdate: 1/15/2007
