                              <title>carnegie hall live (Feb 15 amd 25 at 6pm) </title>
<description>Leif Ove Andsnes, piano – Wed., Feb. 15 at 6pm; Berlin Philharmonic – Sat., Feb. 25 at 6pm. Remember the old joke, “How do you get to Carnegie Hall (Practice, practice, practice)?” Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes certainly has put in the practice hours, and we’re the beneficiaries of his hard work as he gives a live Carnegie Hall performance of music by Debussy, Chopin, and Haydn. Also this month, the Berlin Philharmonic gives a live performance of Mahler’s "Resurrection" Symphony.

This month’s offerings include Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena,” an ideal vehicle for its star Anna Netrebko; “Götterdämmerung,” the exciting conclusion of Wagner’s Ring Cycle; the always delightful “Barber of Seville” with Diana Damrau as Rosina; and Verdi’s early opera “Ernani” with Marcello Giordani in the title role.

                              <title>Classical guitar alive! (Saturdays at 9pm) </title>
<description>Music has the power to inspire, lift the spirit, ease suffering, and heal the listener. The classical guitar and its ancient musical ancestors are uniquely qualified in this regard. Many cultures and histories from present-day to Biblical times mention listeners being soothed by the sound of a guitar, a lute, a lyre, and countless similar instruments.
